I went to Amsterdam last year on October. We had a few days to visit this
city.
We were ready to travel: umbrella
and raincoats in our bags.
The weather in Amsterdam is wet so
you can never forget these things because you’ll always need them.
In Amsterdam all is beautiful:
houses, shops, bridges, bikes and obviously the women are pretty and men are
very handsome. So you can imagine their children!!
When we arrived to the Central
Station in Amsterdam, the bicycles amazed us.
Dutch people use the bike to move,
to work, to shopping, with children or with their pets.
There were thousands of bikes in
the parking site of the Central Station.
I think that it’s impossible that
you find your bike there.
Many people have their bikes
customized like that one with Van Gogh sunflowers.
There were bicycles
everywhere.
Women ride their bikes while smoking, talking on the phone; brushing their hair…they are really dangerous!
The cycle ways are very important
on the city, so you have to walk trough a narrow way.
The hotel was good. We stayed at
Quentin Hotel. It was small but it had beautiful views at the Canals. We had breakfast in the Hotel everyday.
Unfortunately the elevator was
broken so we went up the stairs.
We carried our luggage up to our room trough
the steep stairs.
That stairs are typical in
Amsterdam because the buildings are very narrow.
In Amsterdam the Canals are
beautiful. You should walk trough every bridge.
It’s fantastic because you can take
spectaculars pictures.
Some houses are leaning to the left o the right because they are built on floating floors.
Some houses are leaning to the left o the right because they are built on floating floors.
But sometimes, the houses are
leaning to the front because it’s the only way to take the furniture up without
smashing the facade.
First day with the itinerary in my
hands, we started walking.
We visited Van Gogh Museum, Ana
Frank House and Rijksmuseum Museum.
Near the Museum you can find the
letters: “I amsterdam” and you can take the typical picture there.
We visited Dam Square, Leidseplein
and many churches like Westerkerk.
Everyday we did a walking tour.
We decide to go to the Vondelpark but
unfortunately it started to rain and we had forgotten our umbrellas. So we had
to run to take refuge in a place inside the park and we waited there until the
rain stopped.
We walked trough the Flowers
Market. It was beautiful.
We paid for the Heineken Experience. We did the entire visit and we drank a couple of beers and one night we found a bar with a machine for Heineken extra cold. It was great!!!
We visited the Red Light District. It’s a famous neighborhood with prostitutes in their shop windows.
We went early so we couldn’t see anything. We came back later and we saw some women waiting to work. You don't have to take pictures of them.
In conclusion, Amsterdam is a good city to visit.
