New York City

I would like to start this blog with my travel to New York City.
We went last year, on July. I think it was the best travel that we had done.
The hotel was near to Natural Science Museum, on the west side of Central Park: The Excelsior Hotel.
On the plane, two women started to talk with us and they gave us advices about NY.
They were very friendly and wrote us in a paper many places to visit: parks, squares, restaurants...
We had 8 days to visit NY.

We arrived to NY on Friday evening and we paid for a shuttle get to the hotel. It was an interesting travel.
As it was late in the afternoon, we took a walk around the Central Park.

On Saturday morning we had breakfast in Central Park. We took the newspaper from the hotel and bought orange juice and something to eat.
After that we took a subway to the Empire State.  The first thing we did was buying the New York Pass for 3 days. We went to the Empire State Building and enjoyed the NYSKYRIDE: is a simulator offering a virtual tour of New York City's main attractions.

We walked through the 5th Avenue, Time Square, St. Patrick's Cathedral and went back to the hotel.
The 5th Avenue is fantastic! You can find many expensive shops: Gucci, Versace, Bulgari, Victoria Secret and Tiffany & Co.
I bought a big ladies scarf in Kmart Store for $ 9.99. We needed that  to sit on Central Park grass.

We spent Sunday at Liberty Island. After that, we had some danish pastry and orange juice for breakfast in the Park. We started the travel to the island.
We took a boat but we didn't stop until Ellis Island.

On the boat we took pictures of the Statue of Liberty and then went to Ellis Island.
The queue was huge!

We had lunch in the Immigration Museum. We tasted very good hamburgers and we got back to NY.
In the afternoon we walked Battery Park.
We visited the observation deck and we saw sunset in Rockefeller Center at he end of the day.
NY is a city full of skyscrapers so you can capture amazing pictures.

Next Monday was exciting.
After breakfast we walk through Time Square and we visited Madame Tussauds. It was great!

Back to the hotel, we met Belvedere Castle in the Central Park.

For lunch we went to Via Quadromo: 25 East 73 rd Street. It was a place that the women had recommended us on the plane.

Then, we took a subway to Brooklyn Museum but unluckily it was close because it was on Monday. So, we returned to Manhattan on subway and went to Brooklyn again but this time walking through  the Brooklyn Bridge.

On Tuesday we had breakfast near a lake in Central Park.
We visited MET (Metropolitan Museum of the Art) and the Natural Science Museum.

After that, we had some snacks and took a nap in the hotel before going to have dinner at night.
We chose a Greek restaurant: Kefi in 505 Columbus Avenue.
We finished the night in Prohibition Bar in 503 Columbus Avenue: delicious cocktails and live music. We drank a couple of Martinis.

On Wednesday we had breakfast in Starbucks.

We went to Apple Store but it was been reconstructed :(
We didn't see the big crystal box.

At the HBO store (1100 Avenue of the Americas) I bought a Carrie's Martini cup and a Sex & the City Kiss & Tell Book. I loved it.

In the afternoon we went to the theatre. We watched the musical "The Phantom of the Opera". It was amazing how we got the tickets!!!

That night we had dinner in Miyako Sushi (642 Amsterdam Avenue) we ate a big omasake sashimi.

On Thursday we visited World Trade Center, China town, Little Italy and finally Soho.
I discovered that "Shopping is my cardio" (Carrie Bradshaw's motto).

After that, we had breakfast in Taralucci E Vino in 475 Columbus Avenue.

That day we ate in Italian Restaurant in Little Italy (Grotta Azzurra in 177 Mulberry Street).

For dinner we went to a fantastic restaurant. My english partner, Loli, was recommended us the Ellens Stardust Dinner in 1650 Broadway. It's a restaurant where their waiters are theatre students and play, sing and dance while they are serving you .

Finally...Bar Prohibition obviously: Mojito and Coco berry!!

Last day we had breakfast in Starbucks again and we went to Lincoln Center. With news saying: "Heat wave sweeps across the U.S." We went to Macy's shop. We stayed there until the time we left to the airport.
I still lots of stories to tell, but I think it is enough for now.

Well, that's all!
